To Install InsolCover On An Existing Home
To install InsolCover on a home with vinyl siding, remove the bottom strip of siding with a zip tool and start with an InsolCover panel 1/2" from the bottom of the starter strip.
For an existing home with aluminum siding, loosen bottom starter strip enough to slide InsolCover panels under aluminum siding. Drill a 1/4" hole through the siding and InsolCover panel and fasten with an 1/8th inch screw.
After you have your InsolCover installation started, place each of the next panels 1/8" from the last panel, with the batten strip overlapping. The panel is then screwed through the batten in the center of the slots into the panel underneath.
Installing InsolCover Around Basement Windows
Use either a 1x2 or 2x2 board to trim around the basement window, leaving it flush with the foam board. Carefully trim InsolCover panels around the window, leaving a small strip on top of the window to ensure strength. Finish the sides and bottom of the window with a Living Hinge and fasten with screws. Trim the Living Hinge to overlap at the corners. A Bead of clear silicone can then be applied to the seams for extra protection.
Installing The Corners
To install an outside corner trim the InsolCover panels to meet at the corner, and miter the top of the panels for a secure fit. Place Living Hinge over seam and fasten with screws. Cap off with an outside corner cap.
